Every year for the past nine years, Music for All hosts the National Festival downtown Indy. This event is home to the National Concert Band Festival, Percussion Festival, Orchestra Festival, Jazz festivals. YAMAHA, their National Presenting Sponsor, loans over $500,000.00 worth of percussion equipment to be used for the festival.
They pay Fishers Percussion to help facilitate this! This single event lower the cost of participation for our student fees. Students are expected to help. However, when parents help, they earn funds towards their student account.
Music for All provides (2) 24’ box trucks for us to transport equipment. We usually like to have (1) driver and (3) helpers per delivery/pick up.
Friday March 4 – Gear Arrives! Students during the day will help load equipment off the loading dock and into the LGI room during band class.
Saturday March 5 – Gear is unpacked from flight cases and stored in FHS percussion room
Sunday March 6 – BOA comes in to label gear according to location
Tuesday-Thurs, March 8 – 10 – Parents drive gear will be driven to Music for All locations
Friday/Saturday, March 11 and 12 – Parents drive gear from Music for All locations to Fishers
Sunday, March 13 – Students help load instruments into flight cases
Monday, March 14 – Students help push flight cases to loading dock – and everything goes back to YAMAHA
