Ball State Dimensions in Jazz Festival – Itinerary

• 6:30 AM – Meet at FHS
• 7:00 AM – Depart for Ball State in Muncie
• 8:00 AM – Arrive at BSU check into homeroom
• – Jazz 2 & 4 grab equipment and transit to warm up
• – Jazz 1 & 2 goes to Pruis hall to watch Jazz 3 & 4

JAZZ 2

• 8:30 AM – Warm up on the Pruis stage
• 9:00 AM – Jazz 2 Performance/Clinic in Pruis Hall
• 9:30 AM – Hand off equipment to Jazz 4, head back to homeroom, then go watch other Bands

JAZZ 1

• 8:15 AM – Meet in the Homeroom
• 9:00 AM – Warm up in Pruis Lobby
• 9:35 AM – Jazz 1 Performance/Clinic in Pruis Hall
• 10:05 AM – Head back to Homeroom. Go watch Jazz 1 in Emens Auditorium

JAZZ 4

• 9:15 AM – Meet the Homeroom
• 9:35 AM – Warm Up in MU 123
• 10:10 AM – Jazz 4 PERFORMANCE & Clinic in the Emens Auditorium
• 10:40 AM – Head back to the Homeroom then go watch Jazz 2                                              .

JAZZ 3

• 10:30 AM – Meet in the Homeroom
• 10:45 AM – Warm up in MU 123
• 11:20 AM – Jazz 3 PERFORMANCE & Clinic in Emens Auditorium
• 11:50 AM – Head back to the homeroom

• 11:30 – 1:30 PM – The Atrium is open for lunch, go hear other bands & clinics
• 12:15 PM – Sursa Hall for the Brian Skonberg clinic
• 2:00 PM – ALL meet back in the homeroom
• 2:30 PM – depart BSU
• 3:30 PM – back home

EQUIPMENT

In each performance room there will be a drum set and bass amp. They WILL have drums in the warm up rooms this year. Guitar will need to bring their own amps. Be sure you also have extra chords and cables. Drummers only need to bring sticks, HI HAT CLUTCHES and cymbals. Make sure you have EVERYTHING you need to perform

MEALS:

Lunch can be purchased right across the street at the Atrium (Arts and Journalism Building) from 11:30am to 1:30pm. They have a large selection of different foods and beverages.  DO NOT go into town!

REMEMBER…

• Have EVERYTHING you need to make your instrument work properly
• Help load, unload, & carry equipment because we need ALL of it.
• Be on time (When you’re late…the entire band is late)
• Eat a good breakfast
• Bring some money for lunch
• DO NOT GO OFF BY YOURSELF #theshaggyrule
• Behave appropriately on the bus
• Dress for the weather
